Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets in the opening match of the 12th edition of IPL. Bowling first, the defending champions bundled Virat Kohli's RCB for a meagre 70 runs. Parthiv Patel was the lone RCB batsman to cross the two-digit mark as CSK's spinning trio of Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja shared 8 wickets among them.
